Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications

Ryan George is the assistant vice president of marketing and communications at 1st Global, where he is responsible for executing growth, sales and marketing strategies and leading his team in promoting the 1st Global brand through effective and efficient communication to employees, the community and those in the financial services industry.

George actively engages in leadership roles in both the financial services and marketing communications communities. He currently serves as chair of the Financial Services Institute’s Marketing, Growth and Development Council, comprised of high-level sales, marketing and business development executives from across the industry. George is also a member of the Forbes Communications Council, an invitation-only, fee-based organization of senior-level communications and public relations executives.

He’s spoken at the PR News Media Relations Conference, FSI OneVoice, FinCon and Social Media Summit presented by PR News, and been quoted by ThinkAdvisor, The Wall Street Journal, Marketwatch, CPA Practice Advisor, Accounting Today and other leading publications.

He began his career at 1st Global in 2012 as a senior corporate writer and most recently served as the director of communications, a role in which he helped to connect financial advisors and wealth management assistants with the tools, research and information needed to build thriving and efficient enterprises. He enjoys being able to help make 1st Global’s purpose of enabling intentional living real and tangible by connecting the work others do with how it serves to meet the needs of those we serve on a daily basis.

Ryan received his Bachelor of Science degree in public relations from the University of Texas at Austin, and he entered the financial services industry because it allows him to fulfill his personal purpose: to enhance and enliven the lives of those around him. He appreciates that his current role allows him to do so every day and truly believes he couldn’t ask for anything more from a career. He has nearly 15 years of experience in the industry, including as an investor representative and a public relations specialist at U.S. Global Investors, a publicly traded natural resources and emerging markets investment firm. He is a member of the Financial Services Institute, the Association for Accounting Marketing, the Conscious Capitalism of Dallas Chapter and the Press Club of Dallas. He has passed his FINRA Series 6 and 63 exams.
